The bill (Reg. No. 3417) suggests provide social guarantees for citizens who participated in aftermath mitigation of other nuclear disasters and tests, in military training with the use of nuclear weapons, as well as those gathering nuclear devices, particularly equate them to the citizens affected by the Chornobyl disaster.

The bill suggests amend articles 14, 54 and 55 of the Law ‘On the status and social protection of citizens affected by the Chornobyl disaster.’

During the discussion, the people’s deputies claimed that the Central Scientific Experts Office of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat claims that the suggestion on extending privileges of participants of aftermath mitigation of other nuclear disasters and tests and of military training with the use of nuclear weapons, as well as expanding the circle of these people in the framework of the Law ‘On the status and social protection of citizens affected by the Chornobyl disaster’ does not comply with ideology of this law.
